Henry Thames Rogers

Of Gravesend, one of the Deputy Patent Searchers in 1785, and also [by a route yet to be traced] owner of Brunswick estate in Carriacou; died c. 1811. He appears in the Slave Registers as 'Henry F. Rogers' and 'Henry J. Rogers.'

1. Will of Henry Thames Rogers of Gravesend Kent proved 30/10/1811. Under the will he forgave his son Francis' debts to him and left his property, including real estate at Gravesend and the Brunswick estate in Carriacou, in trust to pay an annuity of £100 p.a. to Francis, with the remainder of the income to go 1/4 to his daughter Jane Cruden and then her children, 1/4 (the share that would have gone to his late daughter Jobina Maria) to his grand-daughters (the children of Jane Cruden and those of his trustee [and son-in-law?] Charles Berket), 1/4 to his daughter Ann Elizabeth Berket, and the final 1/4 to his daughter Elizabeth Rogers. In a codicil of 1809 he adjusted his will after the marriage of his grand-daughter Henrietta Elizabeth with Henry Bellingham to place her share beyond the scope of couverture.
