Biography

'Of Trinity House' and Leytonstone. Mortgage holder on several estates in Jamaica that had belonged to William White of Llandovery (q.v.).

  1. Will of George Burton of Leytonstone [made 1814] proved 05/04/1815. Under the will he left £4004 2s 6d plus arrears of interest owed to him by William White late of Jamaica, John White and John Edwards, secured on the Llandovery and Flat Pond estates, to his nephew Robert Ward. Out of his mortgage of £8720 plus interest secured on the Hopewell estate the property of William White nephew and heir-at-law of William White of Jamaica he left a series of monetary legacies ranging from £1000 for the benefit of his niece Elizabeth Frankland to £5 to his servants. His residuary heir was his nephew Robert Ward.
