Biography
The compensation for the Prospect estate on Tobago was awarded to Edward Ellice as executor of Alexander McGregor.
- Will of Alexander MacGregor of the Island of Tobago proved 27/08/1822. He left £250 p.a. to his wife Charlotte and £50 p.a. to his sister Ann secured on Prospect, but also instructed his executors to sell Prospect as soon as a purchaser satisfactory to the majority of the executors be found and the money divided 4/5th to his wife Charlotte and 1/5th to his sister Ann. His executors were John Balfour of Portland Place, Edward Ellice of Mark Lane, and Elphinstone Piggott (substituted in a codicil by James Campbell of Marys Hill and William Brasnell, also of Tobago) and William Macdowall of Tobago.
