Biography

The compensation for the Prospect estate on Tobago was awarded to Edward Ellice as executor of Alexander McGregor.

  1. Will of Alexander MacGregor of the Island of Tobago proved 27/08/1822. He left £250 p.a. to his wife Charlotte and £50 p.a. to his sister Ann secured on Prospect, but also instructed his executors to sell Prospect as soon as a purchaser satisfactory to the majority of the executors be found and the money divided 4/5th to his wife Charlotte and 1/5th to his sister Ann. His executors were John Balfour of Portland Place, Edward Ellice of Mark Lane, and Elphinstone Piggott (substituted in a codicil by James Campbell of Marys Hill and William Brasnell, also of Tobago) and William Macdowall of Tobago.
