Biography

Anglican clergyman, awarded the compensation for Golden Grove in St Thomas-in-the-East in St James with others as trustees of Chaloner Arcedekne (q.v.).

Ord. deacon (Norwich) Dec. 21, 1788; priest, May 26, 1793; C. of Kettleburgh, Suffolk, 1793. R. of Monewden, 1803-39 and R. of Kettleburgh, 1806-39. Editor of Forby's Vocabulary of East Anglia. Died Nov. 9, 1839, aged 72. Father of George T. (1811). (Bury St Edmunds Sch. Reg.; Foster, Index Eccles.; Clerical Guide; Topographer and Genealogist ii, 500.). Chaloner Arcedeckne (who had died in 1809) lived at Glevering, Hacheston Woodbridge in Suffolk, very close to the Rev. George Turner's parish at Kettleburgh.
