Duncan Ferguson was born 15/04/1784 and baptised 22/04/1784 in Muthill, Perth, Scotland. His parents were Peter Ferguson and Janet McGregor (also known as Janet Drummond). He married Marie Catherine Euphémie Aquart in St. Lucia c. 1830.
Duncan Ferguson arrived in St. Lucia around 1812 at the age of 28. He was a merchant in Castries in 1831 and a member of the Governor's Council.
He likely died in 1851 or 1852 in St. Lucia. A notice dated 05/11/1852 appeared in the Saint Lucia papers following his death announcing the sale of 'A Sugar Estate called GRAND’-ANSE situate in the Quarter of Dauphin.'
