Grade II farmhouse, 17thC enlarged c. 1790, now two houses (Upcott House and The Cottage). Robert McGhie is known [from the entry in the register of Blundell's School for his sons William and Willoughby, who were at the school 1802-1808 and 1805-1808 respectively] to have been living there c. 1802, but it is not yet clear whether the modifications of 1790 were his.

Born into slavery in Carriacou, Grenada, Malvina Wells became a lady's maid in Edinburgh and a trusted family friend to her employers.
