Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, selling his property c. 1817 to James Tulloh or Tulloch. He disappeared from the Jamaica Almanacs c. 1818.

  1. This man was very probably the Thomas Greenhill of the united parishes of St Giles in the Fields and St George Bloomsbury [but late of Little Stanmore] proved 04/08/1826. The will was short and relatively uninformative, but it included a legacy of £100 to 'my dear and intimate friend' John March of Kingston Jamaica attorney-at-law. Greenhill left £500 to Mary Hampson and the remainder of his property to her daughter Sarah Hampson Kavanagh, whom he made his sole executrix. The will was proved by Sarah Hampson Greenhill (formerly Kavanagh) widow [the couple had married in 1823].
