William Brown married Mary Rhodes James at St James, Jamaica, 02/02/1778. The pair had eight children: Juliana Boyd (formerly Patterson, née Brown), 1778-1832 (q.v.); Mary Kerr (wife of William Rhodes James IV (q.v.)), 1783-1815; Eliza Jane, 1786-1813; Rhodes James, 1789-1810; Henry Wisdom, unknown-1796; William John, 1790-unknown; Thomas James, 1790-1823 (q.v.); Ann Robina (wife of William Augustus Dickson (q.v.)), 1798-1842.
William Brown acquired Kew Sugar Plantation c. 1799. He became Hon. William Brown c. 1811. He died at Kew 06/12/1816 and was buried the following day.
William Brown senior is almost certainly the same man.
