Charles Ravenscroft

Charles Ravenscroft was a reversionary beneficiary under the will (proved in 1791) of Valentine Morris (q.v.) and as such party to the Chancery suit of Ravenscroft v Frisby.

1. The will of Charles Ravenscroft, formerly a Captain of Foot in Her Majesty's Regiment of Foot residing in France, (proved 26/08/1840) rehearses the will of Valentine Morris, with Charles Ravenscroft and his wife and heirs being the reversionary legatees after Valentine Morris' nephew Henry Wilmot. Charles Ravenscroft noted the existence of a Chancery suit to administer the trusts under Valentine Morris' will and the build-up of 'a very considerable sum' related to the trusts in the Antiguan estate, and left to his daughter-in-law his share of anything he was entitled to from the personal estate of his son Valentine John Ravenscroft (Valentine Morris's godson),who had predeceased him. The rest of his estate Charles Ravenscroft left to his daughter Louisa Ashley.
