Biography

  1. The will of John Hyde of North Street Westminster, proved 31/03/1813, bequeathed his interest in the Body Pond estate on Antigua in trust to secure annuities of £100 p.a. for his wife Mary and £50 p.a. for his sister Alice Hyde, with the estate passing subject to the annuities to his daughter Mary Doyle and to Mary Miller, who is not clearly identified in the will. Administration was granted to one of the executors, Isaac Blydsteyn (in the will written Blydesline) in 1822. Samuel John Mortimer Marchant, one of the executors, registered 87 enslaved people on Body Ponds in 1817 as executor and trustee of the wills of John and Thomas Hyde, for Mary Hyde proprietor.
