Hon. William Jackson

Chief Justice of Jamaica, dying in London c. 1804.

1. Will of William Jackson [late Chief Justice of Jamaica but now of Upper Phillimore Place] Kensington Middlesex proved 12/09/1804. He left £2000 to his nephew William Jackson of St Dorothy Jamaica, £200 to his kinsman Richard Butterfield of Cursitor Street, City of London and an annuity of £200 p.a. to his mother-in-law; he left his mountain plantation in St Dorothy called Blue Hole [previously part of another, illegible, estate] to his nephew William Jackson. He left the rest of his property in trust for his reputed daughter Elizabeth Jackson by Bridget Strachan [?] born in St Dorothy on or around 29/11/1789 and then at Mrs Young's Boarding School in Kensington.
