Alexander Burrowes Irwin

Owner of an estate in St Vincent, unnamed in his will but identifiable from the compensation records as North Union, for which his widow Lydia claimed as annuitant.

1. Will of Alexander Burrows [sic] Irwin of St Vincent proved 09/07/1807. Under the will he left his wife Lydia an annuity of £100 p.a. and similar annuities to his sisters Jane and Frances Irwin. He registered his disapproval of his daughter Harriet Dasent's marriage 'contrary to my positive injunction' by witholding from her the £5000 he had otherwise intended to leave her but requesting his executors if she was widowed to provide her with £100 p.a. He ordered his trustees to raise £8000 as a portion for his daughter Charlotte. His residuary heir was his son Henry [also given as Harry] Bury Irwin.
