Co-owner and then for a brief period possibly sole owner of Belleaire on St Vincent. In 1833 in the Privy Council case of Douglas v Smith and Brown, the unattested will of Francis Brown of August 1829 was overthrown in favour of an earlier version of May 1829, which transmitted his estate subject to much lower legacies to his grandson Francis Brown Douglas (q.v.).
