Biography

Will of Hon. John Harrison of St Michael Barbados [made in 1755] proved 22/10/1761. Under the will he left (1) 9 acres adjoining John Walke's plantation to his nephew Harrison Walke; (2) his sugar estate called the River in St Andrew to his nephew Thomas Minvielle at 23, together with his buildings and storehouse in Speights Town and all the enslaved people attached to the estate; (3) Ashton Hall, and Strouds in St Michael, to his nephew Thomas Harper Harrison, whose own estate Stroud Hall abutted (if Thomas Harper Harrison died, the two estates went to Harrison Walke).
