Liverpool merchant, partner in France, Fletcher & Co. (q.v.).

  1. Will of Samuel Poole of Wavertree [made in 1816] proved 28/07/1820. In the will he left this property in Britain and the West Indies equally among his seven children. In the will he noted that in the year eighteen hundred and __ [sic] he had withdrawn his name from the firm of France, Fletcher & Yates, and been replaced by his son Samuel Poole, to whom he [the testator] had advanced money that remained in the capital of the firm. He explained that he had excluded his wife Elizabeth from income from his estate if she remarried because in that event she would be amply provided for by her legacy of £5000 under the will of her uncle James France.
