Biography

Natural son of Robert Ross of Henrietta Street and Bybrook (q.v.), who left him £5000, with another £10,000 at 25, and one-third of his residuary estate in his will proved in 1821. At that time he was living with 'Captain Haverfield', the husband of Mary, another natural child of Robert Ross.

  1. Samuel Ross has not been traced with confidence to date. He was conceivably the Samuel Ross [formerly of Southampton but late of Tottenham Street, Tottenham Court Road] St Pancras [made at Southampton in 1838] proved 15/06/1843, which left all his property in trust with John Duncan to buy an annuity for Julia Ross, then living with him.
