Biography

Slave-owner of Antigua, making his will in London in 1756 and dying by 1759.

  1. The will of Benjamin King late of Antigua but at present of Kensington [made in 1756] was proved 05/02/1759. Under the will he left 'a considerable real estate' in Antigua, comprising at least the two estates Long Lane Delap's and Windward together with the enslaved people on them, to John Levicount [sic] eldest son of Mr Peter Levicount of Belfast plantation in Antigua. Later in the will he fulminated against his wife for her 'Elopements', leaving her one shilling.
