John Bond

Father of John Nelson Bond (q.v.) and by inference the partner in Ede & Bond from which John Bond retired in 1823 to be succeeded by John Bond the younger [identified by LBS as the same man as John Nelson Bond].

1. Will of John Bond of the Spa Melksham Wiltshire [made 02/01/1839] proved 24/04/1841. In the will, 'all my household furniture plate linen books and monies the ready money which may be in my house at the time of my decease, the arrears which may be due of an annuity secured to me by a deed of settlement dated the first day of January instant and also the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds of which I have a disposing power by virtue of the same deed unto my Wife Elizabeth Bond absolutely and as to any other property of which I have a disposing power I give the same unto and equally among all my children except my son John Nelson Bond.'
