Ann Hopegood Orby previously Beeston

Widow of Sir William Beeston, remarrying after his death. Her will implies that she was entitled probably as tenant-for-life to the produce of one or more Jamaican estates, not yet identified by LBS.

1. Will of Dame Anne Hopegood Orby, widow proved 15/08/1721. She requested to be buried with her first husband Sir William Beeston at Titchfield in Hampshire. She left her jewels and ready money in Britain to her grand-daughters Jane Long and Anne Long, and all such moneys and debts as may be owing to her in Jamaica 'as also the produce of all such sugars as shall happen to be unsold' at the time of her death to her grandchildren Beeston Long, Susanna Long and Charlotte Long. Her residuary heir was her daughter Jane Modyford wife of Charles Long.
