Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, apparently resident, owner of Norfolk estate in St Elizabeth. Certainly deceased by 1811 and probably by 1807.

  1. The will of Josias Clark [sic] [made in 1804] was proved in London 08/11/1816. He left his wife Ann Clark £200 p.a. currency 'until the property is clear' and three named enslaved people, Betty, Billy and Susan. He left £50 currency to his natural child Charles Clark and the latter's mother named Mary Seaton, and his daughter Elizabeth Clark by a free woman of colour named Sally Chambers £70 currency p.a. until the former's marriage.
